Not all businesses need a full-time accountant. In fact, most small businesses can follow these processes and have a great accounting program!
#1 Have a business bank account
Tip ! Have a couple - 1 account for operations, 1 for saving taxes
#2 Only use your business bank account for business expenses
$ Use our business worksheet to see the categories used in a Schedule C tax scenario
→ Think of what is truly necessary for your business (outside of that, you really shouldn't deduct it)
→ Think of what is ordinary for your business (again, if it isn't ordinary, it really shouldn't be a write off)
#3 Follow the simplest rules :
Keep all business transactions in your business bank account, and follow the IRS guidelines to expenses. If outside of this you have questions, hire a bookkeeper! Someone with years of experience preparing transactions with accountants will help you on your way to the perfect accounting program for you.
